Biography

Virtuosic, sensitive and rich in colour — this is how Mykola describes his own playing. For him, musical expression comes first: technique is the foundation for conveying emotion authentically.
Mykola Pososhko was born on 16 October 2012 in Severodonetsk, Luhansk region, Ukraine, and took up the violin at the age of six. From January 2022 he studied at the Lysenko State Music Lyceum in Kyiv in the class of Professor Bogdana Pivnenko.
Since March 2022 he has lived in Switzerland. He studies at the Oberaargau Music School in Langenthal with Vladyslava Luchenko and at the Musikschule Konservatorium Bern, where he plays in the Youth Symphony Orchestra (JSO). He is a participant in the Cantonal Talent Promotion Klassik Bern programme and holds the Bern Music Talent Card.
Mykola is a prize-winner of more than thirty international competitions in Ukraine, Austria, Croatia, France, Estonia, Portugal, Italy, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia and Sweden — most recently, in 2026, first prize and a special prize at the 5th International Tartini Competition in Piran. At the Swiss national youth music competition (SJMW) he won first prizes — with distinction in 2024 (Entrada Classica and Finale Classica) and again first prizes in 2026 (Entrada Classica and Finale Classica).
In November 2024 he appeared on the stage of the Zurich Opera House: in Alfred Schnittke’s opera “Life with an Idiot”, staged by Kirill Serebrennikov, Mykola performed the role “I as a child” with the solo violin “Tango”. As a soloist he has performed with orchestra three times, among others with de Bériot’s Violin Concerto No. 9 in Paris and Vivaldi’s “Summer”.
He feels especially at home in the music of the Classical and Baroque eras. His long-term goal: to perform as a soloist on international stages — and to move his audience, regardless of origin or language.
